Retreat to the heart of the Mexican jungle

Casa Pumita is located 5km north of the town of San Francisco, (or San Pancho as it is locally known) a quaint village on the Pacific Coast along the Riviera Nayarit. The house sits in a lush, hillside jungle setting with trails to the water, just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta's international airport.

The area around the house is part of Las Clavellinas, a protected natural habitat that is home to a plethora of native animals and birds. Offshore is bustling with wildlife as well. Teeming schools of fish, breaching manta rays and grey whale sightings are common, especially during the winter months. The soothing sounds of the ocean and of the wild life around you add much to the abundant natural beauty. This is a quiet and tranquil place that makes you feel secluded. It is easy to forget that San Pancho--a town that offers everything from world class cuisine to simple street tacos and seafood fresh off the boat--is only a few kilometers down the rugged jungle road.

Casa Pumita is a custom, ecologically sensitive home with many hand crafted details including a palapa roof, hammered copper sinks and inlaid rock floors in the showers. It sleeps 4 adults (there is additional space for 2 children on an air mattress) and there is room for 2 vehicles on a parking pad which is accessible up a short, heart-pumping lighted jungle stairway.
